Soda Pop It’s Time For Us To Breakup

Dear Soda Pop,

We’ve known each other for years and you’ve always been there for me.

Whether it was a special occasion or just a dinner with the family. You’re always there and willing to please. Crisp and cool, always contently sitting in a glass full of ice, or in a perfectly chilled can. You’re always there for me at the movie theatre, the perfect gentlemen complementing my popcorn or at a restaurant happy to help me wash down my scrumptious meal. You’re happy being the centre of attention or standing in the background complimenting any situation.

I’m not sure how to say this you, but I’m sorry Soda Pop, I think it’s time we start to see other people.

You’ve been there for me for years but I am done being tempted by the sweet temptress that is you. It’s time for me to move on and find someone who satisfies me without all the added chemicals and sugars. You’ve tricked me with your delicious taste. You’re actually no good for me at all.

Don’t try and change my mind. It’s over and that’s all there is to say.

Goodbye.

England’s Secret Weapon

Okay, so maybe ASOS isn’t such a secret, but it is definitely an online retailer I absolutely recommend checking out. I have ordered several pieces from ASOS and have never been disappointed by their product or customer service. But before I get into the technical details, let’s focus on the fashion side of things.

The best way I can describe ASOS is as England’s version of Urban Outfitters, but better. ASOS offers a variety of moderately priced designs, by their own in-house brand and several other designers, many of which are not accessible through Canadian retailers. They have designers to suit every style, whether you’re preppy or a hipster they have something you’ll love. There are hundreds of pages of options and whether you’re looking for that perfect statement necklace or a boyfriend oxford shirt, ASOS is sure to have it.

Below are a few outfit ideas, courtesy of ASOS’ ‘Oufits & Looks’ section.

Happy Shopping!

Squish!

This is my puppy Charlie. She’s awesome and Instagram famous… well not really, but one day!

Did I mention I was obsessed with my dog? If it’s not obvious yet, it will be soon.

Did I also mention I was crazy? That will also be evident shortly.

Fashion Drones No More

Ever find yourself feeling like a contestant on Fashion Police’s ‘Bitch Stole My Look’?

Sometimes even in a big city it can be hard to feel original and unique in your style. Especially when you’re on a budget.

When I find myself bored with my favourite stores and in need of a little something new, I head home and open up my trusted macbook. Over the years, more and more of my wardrobe comes from various online retailers. Not only do they offer a variety of items you won’t find in stores, they can also come at a great price. If budget isn’t a concern for you and not a motivator to take your shopping online, consider that online shopping offers you the fashion world at your fingertips. Literally. You can access the fashion markets of London, Paris, Milan and the list goes on.

Many people worry about the fit of the items they are ordering and let’s face it, we aren’t all the same shape. My trick which has yet to fail me is to refer to the size chart offered and compare it with a size chart rendered from Google based on the respective shipping country. Sometimes they can differ. In which case, I always go with the size chart on Google. Lastly before I proceed and purchase my items, I check out their return policy, just to be safe.

If you’re like me and love showing off your style, then I promise online shopping is for you. The variety and options are endless. It’s a shopoholics dream. The best part? They’re open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Every week I will review one online fashion retailer worth checking out and hopefully I can help end the array of fashion drones that plague cities everywhere.

Who me?

Who am I?

Well no one special really. Just a girl, with a dog and a deluded idea that she has some sort of fashion sense. But mainly I just like the sound of my own voice. I mean why else would I start a blog? It’s not like anyone will read it… hello? Is anyone out there?

If you really must know I’m super awesome and modest. But mainly awesome.

I am a big foodie. I love cooking and am always scouring the internet looking for new fun things to make. Now I’m no calorie counter, carbophobe or diet whore, but I am trying to live a healthy lifestyle. So feel free to tune in and applaud my accomplishments but more likely laugh at my failures.

If my life were a movie, it’d be a drama. It’s always full of ups and downs and lucky you get to read all about them.

So stay tuned, I promise to provide plenty of entertainment, most likely at my own expense.
